All dogs must have a current vaccination certificate. Be healthy and free from fleas, worms and other parasites.

Owners Responsibility

Owners must take absolute responsibility for their dogs behaviour and try and minimise excessive barking out of respect to the neighbours!!

Owners to correctly dispose of all droppings, in either main garbage bin (using plastics bags) or dog loo in the backyard, but please no plastic bags as it is a bio-degradable system.

There is a great secure screened back deck which leads to a shady back yard. Dogs are allowed inside but please not in bedrooms where it is carpeted.

One Mile Beach is dog friendly between the hours of 5am and 8am. Also along the beach access, there is a shady walkway behind the sand dunes which leads to a reserve and bicentennial boardwalk with views across the beach and headlands.

At Tuncurry (across the bridge - a drive away) there is a dog off lead reserve from 8am and 6pm daily, plus Nine Mile Beach - also Tuncurry is dog friendly from 3pm to 8am.

There is a dog kennel plus two trampoline beds in the shed. Please bring your dogs own bedding/towels.

Please make use of the outdoor shower/hose to remove excess sand/dirt.

Threre are dog tags with chill-out beach house's address, if your dog likes to wander.

Please clean dog bowls on departure and sweep/vacuum any excessive dog hair.

We cannot be responsible for dogs escaping the confines of the backyard by either jumping or digging under the fence!!

Dogs must be under effective control at all times when off private property - your dog must wear a collar and identification tag and be controlled on a leash held by a competent person (as defined under the Act), except in Council off leash areas. Your dog should be
well socialised and trained so it isn't aggressive and doesn't bark continually.

All parks and beaches are ON LEASH areas unless signage states otherwise.

What Beaches Can I Take My Dog ON a Leash?

    * Boomerang Beach between 5am and 8am
    * One Mile Beach between 5am and 8am
    * Blueys Beach between 5am and 8am
    * Nine Mile Beach between 8am and 3pm

Where Can I Take My Dog OFF the Leash?

You can let your dog run off the leash in the following areas, however you must still control your dog and comply with the stated times:

    * At Tuncurry, Beach Street Reserve on the corner of Beach Street and North Street from 8am to 6pm
    * At Nine Mile Beach Tuncurry north of the 4WD access from 3pm to 8am only
    * Boomerang Beach Sports Field, Pacific Palms. South of the cricket practice nets and confined to the grassed area from 5am to 8am

Beach Street Reserve Dog Agility Track

Great Lakes Council, together with Forster Tuncurry Lions Club and the Beach Street Volunteer Group, all worked together to
build a Dog Agility Park at Beach Street Reserve, Tuncurry. Whilst dog agility is an actual sport, the park is for amateurs to provide mental simulation and activity for dogs. The park consists of weave posts for slalom manoeuvres, tunnels, ramps and jumps where dogs can test each discipline and eventually race against owner and the clock.

Picking Up After Your PetAnimal waste must be picked up in public areas. Animal faeces pose a health threat to the community and are a serious environmental hazard. Failure to pick up after your pet can attract a substantial fine.
